Country Arts WA has announced that Blekbala Mujik will be the feature artist for the 2014 Sand Tracks tour!

Blekbala Mujik takes ancient knowledge and tradition and reinterprets it for the modern world. Mixing traditional song and instruments with synthesizers and modern production, Blekbala Mujik carries a message of reconciliation and shared dreams. Formed in 1986 and led by Peter Miller (Apaak Jupurrula), Blekbala Mujik is one of the most successful bands to emerge from the Top End of Australia, although the lead singer, Apaak, is a Luritja man originally from Central Australia, born in the West MacDonnell Ranges.

Blekbala Mujik will have a NEW album released for the tour – their Greatest Hits Live, a collection of their best songs from their twenty year career. Stay tuned for more info!

Blekbala Mujik will be supported by another CAAMA Music band – Running Water, who were chosen after last year’s stand-out performance at Bush Bands Bash.
