Catch the Fly

Catch The Fly is the Red Centre’s own brand of quality Hip Hop. MC’s Dan the Underdog, McDee & Bruiser mix it up with the soulful sounds of Sassy J over beats sure to keep you moving. It’s a live show not to be missed by anyone into Hip Hop, Soul, R&B, or good live music in general.

Catch The Fly formed in 2010 in Alice Springs and hit the ground running, winning the opening spot at the Alice Desert Festival through Triple J Unearthed. Their Alice Springs Anthem, “Let It Rain” started getting extensive airplay and got to #2 on the Triple J Unearthed charts. This led to a barrage of live shows, including Wide Open Spaces Festival, and opening spots for Outlawz, Bone Thugs N Harmony, Sisqo & Naughty By Nature, just to name a few. In 2011, they were asked to play at “The Concert” which featured The Living End & Missy Higgins. Catch The Fly used that as a platform to launch their self-titled EP. Not long after it’s release, they entered the Global Battle Of The Bands. They took 1st place in the Alice Heats and were invited to compete in the Australasian Finals in Sydney. 15 bands played that night, and the competition was stiff, but they gave it their all and took 2nd place. In 2012, Catch The Fly’s “Off The Brackets” was named NT’s Song of the Year in the Urban category.
